Services to At-Risk
Youth (STAR)

STAR services are provided to at-risk
youth up to age 17 in Victoria, DeWitt, Jackson, Lavaca and Calhoun
counties. Funding for this program is provided by the Texas
Department of Family Protective Services and is available free of

Basic Center

- The Basic Center Program
provides safe and appropriate temporary shelter for runaway and homeless
youth (RHY) up to age 17 that are not already under the supervision of
child welfare or juvenile justice systems. Funding for this program
is provided by HHS and is available free of charge to those

Preparation for Adult
Living (PAL)

PAL is available to any youth age 14 or
older on whom Child Protective Services has an open. This program is
designed to prepare the youth receiving services for adult
living. Funding for this program is through the Texas Department
